It's a good indication but it will fluxuate a lot and could be a bit better/worse!

Just done a test there... probably the highest download I've gotten since signing up!

Was getting 5.48 Mb/s , 1.57 Mb/s about an hour ago . The mast in my area is completely overloaded the afternoon :(, was maxing the speed of my e122 last night at 1am, gonna test this E1820 at the same time tonight.

    1373224735.png

This is the highest speed i can get :S pretty sure contention isn't the problem at 9 in the morning on a Wednesday, is it safe to assume that my mast can only handle 5.6mb?

Happy with this, to be honest. doesn't have to be break-neck speed, just bug free..

I hate NBS, I contently have a (case) with them!! I've more case numbers than phone numbers in my phone! And if you don't keep ringing them there's no joy. You just get a random text saying, We believe your case has been resolved, please ring if this is not so! Just F*#k off and give me enough speed to play COD!

I hear ya pal. I'm also languishing in NBS hell. Fuking Fianna Fail/Greens are to blame for signing that god awful deal with three and giving the crooks hundreds of millions of our money. All to provide us with a utterly sh!te service. I swear, most times it's faster on dial up. We're going backwards, not forwards with internet in this country.

That money would have easily paid for the upgrading of all the remaining eircom exchanges not upgraded to DSL. As soon as I move to a non-NBS area, I'm going to tell three where to shove its "7.2mbps service". Sorry, rant over.

Problem is the .41Mbps speed is good enough, so unless its gets worse then comreg can't do much even then all they can really do is get you out of contract. Your upload speed indicates a solid enough connection which means the problem is just too many users in your area, unless some of them die of boredom waiting for pages to load the connection is not going to get better anytime soon. Gaming on any Mobile Networks is often quite futile as the netwotks really aren't suitable for that sort of use. Not that that excuses any of 3's hype and advertising but is the way it is. There might be some upgrades to the network but all the will mean is another massive sales drive and even more ridiculus claims by 3 with bigger data allowances for less that will soon have the network clogged up again - you can't win.
