    Paying Imagine for 7mb/s. Getting...

    1928381957.png

I usually get between 6 and 8mb/s, but it's been consistently like this (regardless of the time of day) since Monday night. Virtually unusable. I'll be ringing them tomorrow, but I have a feeling that the search for a half-decent ISP is about to begin again.

Not too shabby, my 'average' lately. Acceptable for my needs. The Christmas congestion seems to have passed.. South Dublin.

My nearest cell tower is still down for 2 days now - im just about pulling in signal from another mast - 6% signal :( and with very little connectivity  I dare not do a speedtest since any strain on it causes a complete timeout packet wise.

My huawei router kicked the bucket today, had to go out on the roof in the rain to take it all in! back to the dongle again!

    good speeds still

some pages won't load completely, esp here on boards.ie...is that a problem with the site or three??

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,282 ✭✭✭-=al=-

Probably 3. I've connected to the site on 3 different connections tonight and works fine now and for them all

Turns out it was the power supply on my router that was gone... Must have gotten wet... But I found an old universal adapter, chopped off the end of it and put the huawei usb connection on the universal one and presto, works again. JOB DONE!

Lately my 3G connection here in Portugal is crawling. My phone's signal which is with the same company is fine however and the ping speed seems normal. Usually I would expect to get around 2 to 4.5 Mbps, instead I get this awful rates for the past few days

    2015171683.png

    64841299.png

    ISP: TMN Portugal
    Connection type: 3G

Could my ISP be deliberately giving me crap bandwidth as I made some big downloads recently or is there any other possible explanation?
