my budget is around 1500 euro

i play a lot of first person shooter games and the pc i have atm is rely old... it's a Dell DIMENSION 5150 lol bought it a few year back for 1500 :S

anyway i don't know much about the parts i need like what works with what ect

if anyone could give me some tips that would be great!

****, I forgot to add a DVD drive, but you can add one yourself or maybe salvage one from an old PC.

    nice!

some questions though, why the i5 and not i7? whats the difference between the 2?

and i can use the key board mouse and speakers from my old pc so - them =p

how good is that graphics card?
in my pc i got now i have an GeForce 9400 GT 1GB and i average around 50-100 fps on the first person shooters i play how much better would the 5830 do?

    thanks a lot man!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,356 ✭✭✭seraphimvc

there is hardly any performance difference between i5 and i7, it is just the i7 has the lower power consumption(google for the advantage of this :pac:).for us normal consumers would rather spend the extra bucks on the other parts for teh build.

little tips for the saphire 5830, last time i bought it for 180e from pixmania. beside of the price wise , 5830 is known to have some driver issue for some owners, beware tho.

As its only dual channel ram would remove 2gb of the 6 and put the extra towards getting a 24" monitor http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/3115539/art/lg/w2443t-pf-24-tft-screen-5.html

  • Registered Users Posts: 166 ✭✭gamer_Niall

ok so 4gb it is, is everything else ok? will it all work together?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,845 ✭✭✭massy086

no you want the i5-750 as the one you picked is only 2 core,s were the 750 has 4 core,s much better mother board is overkill to

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭deceit

They will but I would choose an i750 instead as the benifit of the 670 is wasted as you would have no real use for the graphics core and its only a dual core cpu but does have a lower power output. I would prefer the quad as alot of programs and some games are taking advantage of the quads now.

ok so what do i need to change lol name the parts if you can =p
