Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have recently started using Microsoft Outlook Web Access(OWA) for my email on an Exchange server,

The problem that I have is that OWA doesn't remember any of the addresses from the emails that I have sent, Ihave been used to other email packages always remembering the details.

Can anybody make any suggestions as to how I can get it to remember the contact details

    thanks

    Mayotom.

Are you using IE6 or later? Autofill doesn't work in some browsers and in OWA Light you will get a list of most recent recipients on the left as opposed to the little list you get in the To: box when you type the first letter.

You may be confusing OWA with mail clients like MS Outlook,

Microsoft Outlook caches e-mail addresses that you have used in a NK2 file stored in your profile, it's very handy and in time builds up to a full address book,
OWA does not save addresses, you can do a lookup in the global address list (GAL)when using OWA

Bebop not sure about older versions but OWA 2007 definately has this feature, it stores recent addresses and it also follows the account so it's not just a cached history in a browser. Try opening owa in light mode with ie6 or later and youll see it.

I'm using IE8 and it does not work on that but have I tried Firefox and it does cache very recent addresses, this is a function of your browser rather than OWA, if you are connecting by https: your browser should not "cache" anything, this is a security feature of all browsers but autofill my still work on some but it is patchy at best
If you are remotely connecting to Exchange you would be much better using RPC over HTTPS with MS Outlook 2007 this gives all the functionality of a LAN mail client but over the internet, OWA is designed for occasional remote access to your mail from home, public or shared computer, if you are using just the one computer for your mail OWA is not ideal

    Thanks Guys,

I have been using OWA only on one laptop which is new and running IE 9, I had tried to put this into the old outlook system, but couldnt get outlook to work woth the exchange server, the server company have said its not possible and we must use OWA,

I have looked back at it again and there is nothing been saved in the GAL,

If I could use Outlook as before things would be perfect as I could just export all the addresses from the old computer

your server company are short changing you,
Most of the nice features of Outlook are not available on OWA

If you are connecting by https: and your provisioning company are using Exchange 2003 or later then RPC is available, all it takes is a little tweaking at server level and setting up your Outlook client
