Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It could be a dead backlight or dead inverter (inverter is more likely according to this guy).

The guide here from step 10 to step 15 (next page) shows how to open the display panel and remove the inverter.

This issue happen most of the time if your laptop is always plugged into a power socket in your wall. I guess that you had an energy increase in your home and your battery has gone bad - thats what most of my clients has. You should try to change your battery or plug your laptop into power socket without it and try to look at it.
If it may not work i think you should try to look up in the bios settings by turning the light on and off.

Hmm if this is the other part i mean the back-light lamp of your lcd that maybe really hard to fix as a fact this part is only a "service part" that means that you only get it from the manufacture of your laptop.
But you can always fix it or give it to professional - i fix laptops but that issue is really easy to fix just take a few screws of - be care and replace the lcd screen: i have the link to it Here
