Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know anything about front pannier racks/bags? Can I just somehow fit a rear rack, on the front? Short on the old moolah (€) but trying to kit myself & bike out for a weeks touring/camping I want to do before the weather turns awful.

    Thanks!

Rear and front have different shapes so the simple answer would be no. I have never used frront panniers myself despite having the fittings. Back is more than sufficient.

Hm. I'm looking to take a tent, sleeping bag, clothes, maps, camp stove, food & drink, tools..

I've read one of your accounts of going on tour for 3 days blorg but do you really think I'll be able to fit all I need into a single set of rear panniers? My tent doesn't even fit into them when packed in the bag it came with and its pretty small. (Gelert Mongoose 2)

I'm currently planning my packing for a 5 day, 4 night camp and cycle trip to France. I'm bringing everything you plan to bring. It all fits in two Ortlieb BackRollers with a handlebar bag for easy to access bits and pieces.

    Two important things to remember:

    1. You don't pack the tent in the panniers. It sits either between the panniers running lengthways along the rack, or across the panniers.

    2. You don't need much off bike clothing.

    Regards,

    DFD.
