    Hey

I have Kitten hiding in my engine. He's climbing up inside the car, he can get in & out he just seems to be hiding in there. I have a bowl of milk under the car to try to entice him out.

I've seen him running scampering around this morning, he looks scared.

I can't bring him into the house as we have a baby in the house (isn't there some cat borne illness that dangerous for babies).

What to do? Ring Galway Bay FM & see if anyone has lost a kitten?

Maybe ask around locally if anyone owns him? If not, take him to the GSPCA.

I'd say your best bet is to call the GSPCA

Turn it on? A cat can survive perfectly well with three legs.

This happened to me before, 3 kittens. Use a water spray bottle or a broomstick to get it out. Don't start the engine they can get caught in fan belts and stuff.

Yeah just use a water bottle and pour a bit on it to get it out.
Once you've nabbed it, stick it in the kitchen (or somewhere with tiled floors) and put a saucer of mashed up tuna on the floor and some water (not milk).
Use a towel to get dirt and grease from the engine off, otherwise it'll lick this off and get a bit sick.

Then leave it alone in the kitchen, don't chase it or pick it up - it'll only get more stressed.

Cats hate citrus, so if you're afraid he'll return to the engine and get hurt, you could spray lemon juice or some some lemon scented detergent around the car engine and that should at least deter him from there.

^^^^ No that's cats hate Citroens. Can't stand them. Change your car to a Citroen.

on serious note: citrus not 100% effective keeping all cats away.

I opened the bonnet and there he was sitting on top of the engine. I tried to grab him but, didn't commit enough (didn't want to hurt him) I got a few hairs. He made his way further into the engine.

I gave him space & enticed him out with a bowl of milk, I nearly had him again but he escaped.... (for a little cat he is damn fast).... I followed him for 3 houses down before I lost him.

There is more milk out should he come back.

He might belong to someone in the neighbourhood. Lots of cats have a wander-radius of a couple of miles.

You'll be paranoid about starting your car now every time you get in! :D
