Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A tribute to Joey Dunlop to mark the tenth anniversary of the famous motorcycle racer's death. His family, friends and fellow riders describe the many ways he still is fondly remembered.

The programme features a number of firsts, including unseen interviews with Joey, his wife Linda and two of his children. There is also a chance to see unpublished pictures of Joey plus a visit by Linda to Japan to meet the former president of Honda Racing.

I watched it last night and was yet again struggling to put his achievements in context.

His "Hat-trick of Hat-tricks" at the Isle of Man TT races is a bit like a distance runner winning the 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000 metre races at the same race meeting 3 times or a boxer taking the lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight titles 3 times at the same competitions. The fact that he won his last Hat-trick at 48 years of age is scarcely believable, the "wee grey-haired man" as he described himself.

One of the greatest sportsmen in the world and IMHO the greatest Irish sportsman of all time.

I had to laugh though when his widow (apologies for not even knowing her name) was describing how Honda reacted when they were introduced to Joey as the guy who was going to ride their bikes in the 2000 TT.

Joey wheelieing the Honda SP1 Superbike to victory in the IOM TT is my best memory of him

He was the only man who could make the SP1 do things it didnt want to do.

I met the man himself years and years ago in Skerries when he was on his Honda 750 and also the RS 250.

Such a humble and modest man,but such a brilliant man in all respects.

The man was and will allways be a legend.
