Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Have this camera a while but only ran a couple of films through it. One came out good but the other didn't. I've founf instructions for it but there is a ring on the camera that the instructions give no details about. Just wondering if anyone here might know. It has ring that rotates as shown in the photo. Makes no difference to what I see through the viewfinder. Any ideas?

    It allows you to set the guide number of your flash. What happens is that as you focus closer the aperture stops down according to the GN set on that ring so it allows for sort of primitive auto flash shooting. Dunno how it's turned on though, maybe some sort of switch on the hotshoe or something ? It's almost certainly not 'on' all the time.

    -edit- Ah yes, page 19 of that manual has the above GN description, page 16 seems to indicate that as soon as you stick a flash into the hotshoe the camera switches over to using this GN system, and a shutter speed of 1/20 sec. Which, come to think of it, is kinda slowwww. The entire thing seems a bit cumbersome, and it's a pity you can't just turn it off and use some flash auto setting or something but on the other hand, unless you have a flash in the socket it doesn't (or at least shouldn't) make any difference what you have it set to.

    Thanks for the infio Daire, I had a feeling you would have the answer. That link gives more info that the obe I found before. I thought it might have something to do with the guide number for the flash. Just discovered the batteries are dead since I last used it so hopefully I can find a pair somewhere. I might pick up a cheapo flash from deal extreme for it, my own canon one is a small bit too big. :)
