Would LOVE to get to this one. Hes high on my on the list of people I need to see. David Byrne was Top then I seen him and Plant was after him. Very expensive though. Do you think it will sell out straight away?

Saw him in 2005 (I think) in The Olympia and it was a fantastic gig. It was The Mighty Rearranger Tour ... did a few tunes from that album, some older solo stuff and of course Zep classics

.... didn't like the Raising Sand album and this looks like more of the same so I think I'll give this a miss. (Plus guitarist Liam "Skin" Tyson ex-CAST, isn't in his touring band anymore so for me thats another reason not to go ... I like Tyson's playing a lot.)

So it's not going to be like Mighty Rearranger at all? Not rocky?

I can't find out if it will be uptempo or if it will be folky, I don't know if I'd want to go if it was just folky stuff. The album is meant to have rockabilly tunes on it. That would be cool. Hard to find info though.

Keep an eye on the setlists from the US tour (July 13th through to July 30th) for a better idea ... but reading the blurb on his site regarding the type of stuff the Band Of Joy are working on , it's sounds Folksie - Americana.

Got excited when I seen this advertised as his last gigs here were great, but I dont' think I'd really shell out 60 euros for this kinda stuff!

It's annoying me that the album isn't out or the tour hasn't started before te tickets go on sale. €60 is a bit much for something that I don't know if I'll like. Hopefully there will be some info before friday somewhere. I mean I like folk but If i'm gonna see Plant I want to see Zepp/Mighty rearranger Plant. The Rocky stuff.

This sounds interesting. If the album is going to be blues rock then I would be definatly interested.

According to Billboard Business News, Robert Plant’s new album was met with an enthusiastic reception during a London debut event on June 1, 2010.
    Richard Smirke writes:
The new record forms a triumphant follow-up to “Raising Sand”, replicating the raw organic sound of its predecessor while, at times, pursuing a rockier direction.
Standout tracks include album opener “Angel Dance,” a driving blues number, “Silver Rider,” an epic duet (probably with Griffin), which alternates between quiet relaxed verses and an infectiously catchy rock chorus, and “I’m Falling In Love Again,” a beautifully soulful country ballad.
Elsewhere on the record, “You Can’t Buy My Love” delivers a foot-tapping cross between Johnny Cash and Hamburg-era Beatles, while “Monkey” momentarily harks back to Plant’s days in Led Zeppelin with its potent mix of feedback, grinding rock riffs and deep bass. The wonderful “Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down,” meanwhile, is a blues number which pushes Plant’s still-powerful vocals to the fore.
The album closes with blues rock number “Even This Shall Pass Away,” which finds Plant singing, “What is wealth the King would say/Even this shall pass away” before culminating in an extended instrumental outro.
“‘Band of Joy’ was an appropriate title for an amazing group of people who had nothing to lose,” Plant told the assembled media audience before leaving the room, declaring: “I’m off to make another one.”

I was at the gig, went on my own and had front row balcony seat. Was one of the most enjoyable gigs I've been to. Funny how people go insane at the thoughts of a Led Zep gig yet Plant plays these small venues without all the hype and they are billiant gigs.

This should answer a few questions as to what the Band Of Joy will jam like .... 53min editted concert from NY 10 days ago ... Zeppelin tunes are completely reworked and sounding great (not usually my cuppa but I like it) ...

Was at the gig last night.
I have to say its one of the best gigs I've been to.

Plants voice was brilliant and the band were fantastic.

Buddy Miller is an amazing guitarist and comfortably covered the range of material from Zep classics to more countrified stuff.
Huge drum sound as well, reminiscent of John Bonham.

Great venue to see them too .

The show was amazing!!! The band were fantastic musicians! I loved every second of it. Caught the last song of the support band, They were good. Did the supports guitar player play with Plant on the strange sensation album? The time went so fast as always at gigs. Nearly played for 2 hours. Great venue for it too! Overall it was a brilliant night! :D:D:D

Great gig. Some people don't like Plant's versions of Zeppelin but I thought they were great and the funny thing is back in the day Zeppelin were always rearranging their own songs live. Justin Adams was part of the support and was indeed part of sweet sensation.

    Here are some photos.

Great photos there. I was in the same spot as you over to the right hand side. Thanks I thought it was him. Great player. I met Darrell Scott comming out after the show. He was really nice and signed my poster :). There was a crowd at the stage door waiting but Plant was at an after showparty inside and would be 'a good long while' before he's comming out. I stayed for about 10 or 15 minutes and then headed. It was too cold to wait any longer. Anyone meet him?

EDIT - Plant night on BBC2 this saturday (6th). The gig from the Electric Proms and I think a documentary aswell.
