    Hi, I am looking to rent a furnished house in Kilkenny city or environs for the months of Jul and Aug . Most people only looking for long term (12months min). Does anyone know of anything that might suit. All suggestions welcome

    you could try and ring a few landlords, explain your situation.

    They might take it if they think your dependable as getting rent for a few months is better than getting nothing while they try and rent it :p.

    Have you tried any of the holiday home rentals (wallslough village, croan dunamaggin you will probably find more under failte ireland or whatever they are called these days)

    Ok, long shot but here goes. Advertise!

    Put a box ad in the KP for next week stating what you stated here.

    We did it when we found the Estate agents didn't have what we wanted, it worked out. We were actually oversubscribed. Also try placing an ad in Supervalu and Superquinn.

    And as a long long shot, try Radio Kilkenny. It is an unusual request so they won't be pissing off their advertisers if they put out a word for you.

    Failing all that, try days hotel for long term deals, it's common in Dublin.
