Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Lens is the most important thing and if it's anyway useful they wont let you into the venue with it unless you have permission, in order to protect the artists "image rights"

    Are you looking for a P&S or DSLR?

    to be honest, im just looking for a good quality digital camera that can take clear pictures that i can post on a blog.
    dont want to spend much more than 100 either to be honest...student budget!

    You won't get much for that, tbh.

    If you're serious about it consider saving up or taking a loan, but for 100 you'd stuggle to even get a decent point+shoot camera that'd be any use at gigs.

    EDIT: If it's just for a blog, I'm sure you'll find something decent, but they won't be 'clear' at gigs, unless they;re outdoors. The ISO will be poor on cheap cameras.

    Agreed, €100 will get you something the equivalent as the latter half of you name OP.

    OP

    - firstly , taking pics at concerts is not permitted in the terms and conditions of almost all concerts/venues - even though its almost impossible to stop everyone.
    */gets off high horse*

    - secondly, for what you are looking for pretty much any decent compact/bridge camera will suffice - a DSLR will most likely be taken by security staff...as you will need to get as close as possible to get a usable image.

    NOTE: (a Point and Shoot/normal digital compact camera = will more than likely have a shutter lag, some bridge cameras might have it too....very important to realise this ..... this is the delay between when you press the button and when the image is taken)

    in order to get a decent pic at a concert you need to understand the basics of photography - do you know anything about the relationship between ISO/ASA, Shutter speeds, Apertures, composition, rule of thirds ? learning about these will improve your ability to capture a decent image.

    Don't expect to have any print quality images - you want an image to put on a blog, so learn how to take a photo, get as close as possible to the person/band on stage...stay as steady as possible.... learn and understand your camera and how it reacts in different light.

    From experience, not a hope! Not at concerts, anyway.

    Having said that, if it's mainly for blogging/web, you might get away with it, but not many compact cameras perform well in low light/gig situations.

    Doesn't seem a bad price, down from 311 to 107

    A bit overpriced in the first price IMO but not bad for just over your budget
