Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I cant get work, I'm 24, never got state benefits before, living at home and I cant get the dole because of my Mams income.

Some stupid rule, what can I do in the meantime apart from keep searching for work?

Get your own address. Rent a room for a few weeks until someone comes out to confirm your address from the dole. Then move home and informthem of a change of address.(once your dole is through) They,re not concerned who you live with once your,e in the system

Unless of course you're subjected to a random inspection. Or they need to post you anything. Or your mother claims anything on the basis of you living there. Or you apply to another government department with your PPS number

OP, you can either move out or turn 25, either will make you eligible

So by moving out, I would get the dole, is that fair to say?

I finished my college course and have always had a summer and P/T job during the year.

Assuming you don't have any other disqualifications. You would have to be re-assessed, but if you don't have any other income, savings or assets, then yeah, most likely

You will be on a reduced rate due to your at, and may not qualify for rent allowance.
You may have to show a lot of evidence to show you are living independently to prove you are living away and the situation isn't just contrived in order to claim social welfare.
