Living in Spain, I'd obviously like them to win, if even for the great atmosphere there would be, but I've always had a soft spot for Holland and I have them in the work sweep so I want them to win.

I think Spain are about to do what France did in 1998 and peak in the final. Would not be surprised if they have a dominant 2 or 3 goal victory. I am loathe to write off any team in a 2 horse race but I see Spain as strong favourites on Sunday.

Spain to win it, but not too comfortably, tbh. They will win it, IMO, but the Dutch won't be easily beaten.

Been looking at the history between these two teams, and there is remarkably very little of it.

Never met in a finals tournament before. Only met competitively in 1920 Olympics,Spain won 3-1, and in 1984 European Championships qualifiers and they each won their home games.

Rest of games are friendlies and the last one was in 2002. So there is remarkably little history between them, amazing for two such big footballing nations with so much success.

I expect a replica of tonights match. Spain dominating possession and tiring the Dutch unless there is an early goal or a few early yellows to stop Van Bommel and De Jong hacking them out of it.

De Jong and v.Bommel will sit in the middle of the park and break down the tippy-tappy all evening. Robben is way too good for the Spanish defence, tey haven't faced a player of his quality (bar Ronaldo, who prefers to shoot from nearer the halfway line anyway).

what has the world come to, where a team who play the game, probably the way it was always intended to be played, in it's purest form really in terms of 'passing and moving', are now being resented for it?
