Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I sense a bit of bitterness in there. They seem to suggest Iniesta was offside when the ball was played.

    Germans, I tell you.

Holland were trying to play sharp, attacking football as much as you could imagine against a sterilizing team like Spain.
Funny then how the Dutch goalkeeper had completed more passes than all their outfield players after 90 minutes.

 whats that got to do with anything...the dutch never sat back and attacked at every opportunity, one pass... in on goal!

It suggests that there midfielders were busy doing other things, like fouling players rather than trying to pass the ball and break Spain down.

If you remember the match, when Holland got the ball back after a long period of Spain possession they'd cool it down by knocking it round the back for a bit. LB to Keeper to RB to Keeper to CB to Keeper.

It could also show that midfielders were more prepared to run at a defender and take him on, rather than pass.

Passing statistics like that do not tell you how midfielders behaved on defence, not even vaguely. The only players on Sunday who were fouling in possession of the ball were those who dived.
