Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, Just a quick question. I have just set up my xbox for wireless with the offical adapter. I got a new eircom router too. I seem to get a random disconnect every hour or so. Is this something to do with the xbox or the routers broadcasting? Do routers have a broadcast cycle where it does some kind of minature reset every so often? Any suggestions would be much appricated. Cheers, Andrew

is it every hour or so all day or are you only playing in the evenings? my vodafone 7mb would drop repeatedly from around 2am onwards, it's gerenally just down to your isp to be honest!

I'd only really set it up this week. So I don't play many games on. It's only been the evenings after work. Last night I was up til 2am and it was still disconnecting me then.
The disconnect is about every 40-50 minutes it seems.

    Something for your to investigate:

Some DSL modems (and I have seen this with Eircom Netopia routers) will connect on demand instead of leaving your DSL connection up all the time.

    (I don't use Eircom/DSL so if that isn't it I can't help further.)

ok well you could try resetting your router to factory defaults, they should be fine for use with the xbox. i have an official wireless dongle myself and am on an eircom netopia router for the last four days and it has only dropped once.

make sure you have your usename and password for the router before resetting so you can get back online without having to call the feckers!

also try turning your firewall off

Do you have a laptop or a desktop with a wireless connector?
if so, do you get simultaneous disconnections on it?

Thanks guys, Yea I'm using a netopia router.

    To fcrossen
Is there a function to have the DSL up all the time?

    To Adam

I'll try those when I get home and let you know.

    to enable always on connection:

    192.168.1.254

Expert Mode -> Configure -> Connection -> Connection Type (Always On)
