I think the Germans might be using this to give some of their young prospects experience.

Have to fancy the Uruguyans - for them 3rd is an achievment whereas for the Germans the difference between 3rd and 4th is pretty meaningless.

Pretty much a first choice Uruguyan eleven - wouldnt be surprised if Suarez maybe nicked a goal.

Spanish could have not been the language of Uruguay (maybe portugese) and some people might think "austrian" might be the official language of Germany, a possibility given the official languge of Austria is German, and German is one of 3 official languages in Switzerland.

Obviously the "most colourful caves are in blah blah blah" was meant with comedic intent.
