It's Google's take on social networking, mostly similar to Facebook but you have more control over who you share links/status updates with via Circles.

Yea I just checked, don't think it exists for the iPhone

There is a mobile version but you're very limited to what you can and can't do. I'll have a proper look at it on the laptop after work. Need to edit my security settings as I don't want randomers to see my profile
