What sort of audio input does it have? RCA or TRS?

    Its RTS.

I play all my games through it so it'd be no problem hooking it up. =]

If we can hook it up easily enough then by all means and if you don't mind bringing it down.

Televisions and monitors. If anyone can bring them, then please do.

I'm going to do a list later of what has been offered so we know exactly what we need. I'm going to do it in terms of set-ups.

I had a quick run-down recently and I think the major thing we need at the moment is VGA cables. speakers and adapters for the RCA connectors so they work with the speakers.

But we need all the offers we can get, in case anything falls through.

Televisions and monitors. If anyone can bring them, then please do.

    Shit I can bring:
    • 4:3 dell monitor
    • ordinary VGA cable ( I assume you meant to the xbox compatiable kind?)
    • Xbox
    • Game
    • Speakers
    • my A game :P

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

yeah it would be the X-box to VGA cables we need. Hopefully HMV are still doing that discount.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

    Offered at the moment.

    Set-up 1 :
    Monitor (Orim)
    X-Box (Orim)
    Vga Cable (Orim)
    Speakers (Bush)

    Set-Up 2 :
    TV (ChopperByrne)
    PS3 (ChopperByrne)

    Set-up 3 :
    Monitor [4:3] (AnimaX)
    Xbox (Gory)
    VGA (Orim)
    Speakers (AnimaX)

    Set-Up 4 :
    Monitor [4:3] (Orim)
    X-box (A-trak)
    VGA (Orim)
    Speakers (Sisko)
    Set-Up 5 :
    HDTV (A-Trak)
    PS3 (banjoB)

    Set-Up 6 :
    HDTV (Unky Chop)
    PS3 (Bush)

    Set-Up 7 :
    Monitor [4:3](SpeedBoat)
    xbox (Speedboat)
    VGA(Speedboat)

    Set-Up 8 :
    Monitor [4:3] (D4RK Onion)
    Xbox (D4RK Onion)
    VGA (BanjoB)
    Speakers (D4RK Onion)

    Projector (Speedboat)
    Spilter (AnimaX)
    Amp (Foamymushroom)

This might look messy when I hit submit but there it is eight set-ups. Obviously there it's a bit hodge podge but it is there. Can everyone provide the stuff that is there?

Speedboat : Will we need speakers for your monitor?

Terry has one RCA to headphone jack. We'll need more. Does anyone have some?

We could always use more offers to try and make it more uniform (get rid of the 4:3 monitors) but that is eight workable set-ups.

    Thoughts?

Beyond the monitors issue, I realised that we may need to buy PS to vga cabels if we want to use them with monitors.

i have xbox vga cable, do we need those?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,985 ✭✭✭animaX

You could add foamymushroom for speakers on the main (projector) setup.

Also my monitor is [4:3], you don't seem to have that listed. I'm actually more used to 4:3 and prefer it now! I'm sure anyone can adapt to it.

The RCA to headphone jack cables are in tesco for less than 2 euro i think. I'll see if i can find a few at the weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

    Cheers had forgotten about that.

I don't think the aspect is a major deal and would prefer to make sure input delay is eliminated.

I'd almost rather stick with the 4:3 monitors and start to eliminate the TVs for the size issue but we'll see what more people.

AnimaX if you can pick up a few of them that'd be great. We could get them out of community pot so keep the receipt (trust you but we'd want to keep start keeping records of the money as it comes in and out)

Yep , If i can get away with not bringing myHDTv and some else bring a monitor I'd be all up for it.

It's just that it's a 40 inch beast and not exactly travel friendly

I don't hear any mention of extension cables, double adapters etc. We're going to need 20+ power sockets!!

I can bring two double adaptors, maybe a 4-way adaptor.

There's a good few sockets there. And they have extension cords which should suffice our needs. I also have adapters that I'm bringing in so that area is covered.

You may have to count my hardware off the list.

I may well be out of Dublin that weekend, won't know 'till closer to the date.

If you need another setup, I'll talk to Andy in Xtreme and see if I can get a full Xbox 360 and TV setup for the event. Can't guarantee anything, but I'll see what I can do.

    YO.

    My monitor doesn't require speakers.

If we want speakers for the projector we'll need to split the audio signal for the console that will be hooked up to it.

I don't have an audio splitter but i do have another way or doing it if nobody else has splitters. It involves the optical audio that is also output by the VGA cables.

Right with A-trak possibly pulling out and us having lots of big tellies, I'm going to suggest a monitor we could purchase.

    http://www.jaguarcompsys.ie/product_info.php?cPath=6_112&products_id=3141

It's a €100 and from the research I've done it appears that the brand is good for input delay so it should be good for us. I have a BenQ myself and it seems good but I haven't done a proper input test with it.

Obviously this comes with a host of problems but at the very least it would be good to get some more discussion about the community fund and what we're going to do with it. I would like to get us into buying equipment so that by the December inferno we have enough community monitors, at least, to run an inferno.
