Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Today could be the escapees' day

The second longest stage. With four 4th-category climbs and plenty of riding on the open plains of Burgundy, it offers arguably the best chance so far for breakaway specialists.

With the first medium mountain to follow the next day, it might even be a breakaway rider who takes the yellow jersey if the overall contenders decide to hold back for stage seven and the sprinters’ teams have lost the will or energy to chase. Letting a less fancied rider and team take yellow on this stage could be a smart move as they’d do all they can to keep the race together in the days that follow.

    Its a pure sprinters stage

only reason Im watching today [and yesterday] is that the scenery is cracking and it helps me re-live my past cycle tours through those regions and inspires some future ones :pac:

after the stage ends there might be a bit of traffic to the thread ;)

Heh, dead right, it isn't everyday you see a lead out man getting as much recognition as the sprinter, but so deserved.

Cos he can't climb for ****, only way he'd win the tour is if 200 or so others dropped out !

In fairness Cav has always claimed Renshaw is the second fastest man in the peleton...

Yeah fantastic once again from Renshaw delivering it on a plate for Cav. Now for some sustained excitement in the Alps for a couple of days thankfully.

BTW there seems to have ben a slight split in the peleton. Some being given as 3 seconds down.

We'll haev to wait to see if it effects anyone (Roche could move into top 10)

EDIT; Roche stays in 11th. It seems they've given them all the same time now

Roche finished 42nd. He lost 3 seconds but all the top GC guys did as well so no big deal.

Lance Armstrong tweeted that 2 riders had a bit of fisticuffs after the line. Didn't say who though.
