just passing through the small village of ballyragget here in kilkenny (im not driving while on the phone, im in the passenger seat!), but i just noticed €159,950 for a house in a housing estate, i thought, 'thats not bad!', then i realised 'hold on, thats only €50 shy of €160,000, there's houses in limerick going for that and they aren't half as remote!', come to think of it, im surprised i have reception on the mobile, because i didnt have it all morning just outside thomastown, imagine trying to get broadband! bad enough even trying to get broadband in some parts of limerick! :|

Today went a little better. I was approved the time off I requested - 5 days after requesting it. I had booked the flights before getting approval(because I thought I had it).

Nearly lost the price of flights. :o

Nah you'll go to sleep and you'll get a pop up about half an hour later asking some mundane stupid question, which you won't see till morning.

    Hahahahaha

That's why I went back to Ubuntu.

I know how to fix that, and save all your files. Get a live cd of Ubuntu, copy your files off the hard drive then install Ubuntu.

    Problem solved!

restore pretty much does SFA for windows, you would have definitely been quicker doing a fresh install and then downloading updates, reinstalling programs, etc, get your computer back working fresh.

ubuntu is great for some things, i've introduced my young lad to linux mint, albeit in a dual boot environment on his netbook with windows 7, but it has a long way to go before it's as useful for me anyway as windows.

on the plus side, it IS free, so no harm to try it, and then you have libre-office instead of microsoft office, again, still not as accomplished, but good for the young lad to learn how to use it.

    horses for courses really... :o

    no cd drive :P

usb key? even if your phone has "mass storage" mode, you can go that way? ;)

or, if its like 30-40GB of data, i have a usb caddy you can have a lend of, pop the hard drive, back up your stuff, back into the netbook, format and drive on! :)
