Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I connected a 2nd monitor to my pc but I colour is way out on it. I tried tinkering with the monitor settings and computer settings but can't seem to get it right! :-( See below:

    Any ideas?

    1. Near the clock (bottom right) is there an icon that is specific to the installed graphics card?

    or

    2. Right click on either desktop where there is an empty space. Is there anything there that is listed in the list that appears, that refers to "________ control panel" or mentions a graphics card?
Are the two monitors the same make?
    If so, what are they?

Assuming you have already found the graphics card third party app that controls the colour, etc are they both set to "default" setting and the same goes for the two monitor and their separate built-in default setting that is normally reached through the buttons on the actual monitors?

Yea I have tried all that! I have improved it a little bit! But there is definitely a difference!! Maybe because they are two different models that the picture is different! I know my newer one is a higher spec!

Try the actual monitor Either on the bottom right (usually) or sometimes on the whole right hand you'll see a list of icons and the buttons are on the backside.

You'll find brightness and contrast there. Different monitors though tbh. To be expected.

agree with wolfric, the settings from the pc would generally be the same for both monitors by default, try adjusting the colour/brightness/contrast settings on the monitors themselves to get the closest match, but it will probably never be perfect!

If you're using two different makes & models then the absolute best solution would be to get a calibration tool and calibrate them both to be the same.

See about removing the colour profiles for both monitors, which then leaves only the actual monitors as the issue, not monitor+profile as potential issues.

Try using the OSD (on-screen display, aka monitor settings on the actual monitor) to make them match up. The monitor on the right is showing definite signs of being overly red which could be a colour temperature issue. Again, the OSD should have these features :) If there is no OSD, then your graphics card driver control panel (Catalyst Control Center if ATI, nVidia control panel if nVidia etc) should be able to do the same thing in software.
