    Hi all,

    Just wondering if it is possible to get a 6 month lease, everything i am looking at seems to be for 12 months.

    We are moving house and have not seen anything we like at the moment and do not want to be tied to 12 months.

    Our there 6 month leases out there or can you bargain with them to get it down from 12 to 6, something like 6 months with an option on the other 6 months?

    You can get six month leases, yes, however they tend to be for a significantly higher monthly rent than for a 12 month lease, in recognition of the greater uncertainty and possible earlier vacancy for a landlord.

    You can ask for a 6 month lease from any landlord- but be prepared to pay more per month for the shorter lease.
