I completely agree - I'm not from a republican area, and I don't see these scumbags at work, but I regularly recieve updates on the current threat level to those involved in the security forces.
The past few weeks are only highlighting to the public what problems have been escalating since the new year and before.
It would appear that the powers that be have covered up a lot of dissident activity, particularly regarding incidents of shootings.
Is anyone else surprised that attacks are happening even in areas like East Belfast and Bangor???
I am very concerned right now as I can only see this situation getting worse - police being cut and it would take a serious situation to bring the army back on the streets other than the Bomb Disposal teams.
Can't believe some of the nonsense that comes from politicians - like that councillor refusing to condemn an attack on his niece...and going on about British Occupation etc....face facts - these scumbags don't want any authority at all, and they hide behind religion, which clearly they know nothing about and certainly do not care about.

    Apologies for the rant.

On the plus side, perhaps the PSNI will need more recruits sooner than currently expected.

bangor and kilkeel was a message that no-one anywhere is safe.

while i do feel they are out of touch with what the wider republican community wants, to label them scumbags and mindless is dangerous as some people have done.

these people are clearly intelligent, resourceful and more importantly very dedicated to what they see as their goals.

it is with this in mind that they should be dealt with or at least contained. they cannot be dismissed for one second. thats when they are at their most dangerous.

  • Registered Users Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

Sorry but I disagree with you on this point - they are scumbags who have noe respect for anyone or anything appart from their own selfish ideals. Their actions are wrong and unjustifiable (even this terrible British Occupation does not justify their acts).

i didnt say i agreed with them. If i did i wouldnt be here replying to you. lol.

all i'm saying is that they shouldnt be underestimated.

  • Registered Users Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

I know you don't agree with them - you discuss issues - they just shoot, bomb and terrorise.....
Sorry I picked you up wrong on the last post.
I completely agree that they are very dangerous - and I fear that we lack the funding, will and backbone to get rid of them.

I saw about the new ' Whirlybird ' on the P.S.N.I. Facebook pages , is it an 'extra' helicopter or just a replacement for an older one that's going out of service ?

I suppose almost everyone on becas list has received vetting forms then?

Ah,it comes with applying close to the entry deadline that some of us are at the tail end of things.Heres hoping thats the case:rolleyes:

Remind me in future campaigns to apply a lot sooner .......oh wait.....correction.....if there are any more campaigns!

    this wont last forever.

There is always attrition and retirement, in any job that frees up a few spaces every year.

Not to mention muppets gettin sacked or leaving on induction when they realise they might have to work shifts or wear a uniform. lol

No, I think there are still a good few people on the list who have not heard anything since their AC pass letter.
I suspect it is because we have not got a high enough score at AC........

  • Registered Users Posts: 41 kc29

my vetting is still ongoing but i havent heard a thing about any medical

  • Registered Users Posts: 181 ✭✭B182

The list looks 60% got them 40% haven't so I wouldn't give up just yet and it's august so hopefully we get scores soon !

  • Registered Users Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

To be honest, had there not been a freeze, I would not be giving up hope.

But with the freeze and no vetting forms I have all but given up hope.

On the plus, my RAF Police application (which I thought had been rejected) is actually being processed, so I may well get to be a 'police' dog handler yet....

I am from a staunchly Republican area that ALL of you will have heard of.

Basically the absolute hate and anger evident from watching the rioting at Ardoyne was the worst I have seen in a long while. Like someone else said it is not a few older disgruntled men.

There is a new generation with as much hate and anger for the police as ever seen before.

.... and to think that there was a plan to introduce unarmed PCSO's

Is a lot of that violence not just recreational?

It's crazy that young teenagers even little children are not one bit worried about getting stuck into riots with police.

I think they get caught up in the moment off it all , like most gutless but once in a group hard as f"ck wee men indeed

I like the way you put that!!

It really is madness though that the state is so soft and just takes it all. Personally I think the police should be able to use water canons, tasers, batton rounds, battons, live ruonds and anything else they deem necessary to elimate this thuggish, criminal behaviour which really is attempted murder at times.

I think that the minute someone lifts a petrol bomb for example, they give up all of their so called 'human rights'.

Perhaps we should publicise 'human responsibilities' to accompany the 'human rights' which is continually rammed down our throats these days.

The most worrying thing is that so many people really seem to believe that society is getting better...............what a load of nonense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

I thought that would have sparked a bit of debate on here.........
You will be glad to know that I was only partially serious by the way, I'm just trying to convey how maddening it is to see such thuggery and destruction of property go in right in front of police.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 874 ✭✭✭cesc77

wanadrum,I think this subject may have been covered a month ago when all the wee hallions were out in force.Breaks up the summer holidays for them,eh?

I think you may have been partially serious in your point about the measures used to control these muppets and I do agree with you to a degree but in these oh so bloody sensitive times the human rights brigade would have a field day and the ensuing publicity would only bolster their support.

  • Registered Users Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

I know cesc77, I was just exagerating to boost discussion.

Unfortunately I was in sunny Florida a month ago so missed out on the discussion.

Definitely think that people need to wake up to their responsibilities before they start moaning about their human rights.

There a been a huge shift in the respect for authority with people now unafraid of the limp wristed penalties,or worse proud of their behaviour.

I remember being terrified if a teacher told me off,or an adult in the street for that matter, due to the possibility of my parents finding out ,but that doesnt seem to be the case now.

I can just imagine parents almost being proud of their lovely kids being shown on the news fighting for "the cause".What parent doesnt know their kids clothing and thus would be able to identify them on the tv,regardless of face covering?

  • Registered Users Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

It makes me feel really old, but at the grand old age of 25, it wasn't like that in my day.

I think I must have been an absolute angel of a child compared to some of these kids today.

It's well known by now that the Human Rights Act is being used in ways it never was intended - Serial killers being given hardcore gay porn in their cells, Convicted murders from another country being allowed to stay in the UK after they served their time, the list is endless.

David Cameron vowed to repeal it if he became PM, so let's see if he'll stay true to his word.

Cameron made several vows in his manifesto which have been diluted or conveniently forgotten about due to the unholy alliance with the yoghurt knitting Lib Dems.I cant see the Lib Dems allowing the repeal of the human rights act...in fact Ill bet it was pretty high on their list of "I Want" when they were playing the Cons against Labour after the election results.

On a slightly different note...has anyone heard from our so-called devolved government over here about the freeze issue? When do they have their summer break again?I dont suppose it starts on the 1st of July?hmmm that date rings a bell....cant think why.
