Is there any decent sites for jobs in the US, such as bar work in Irish bars and such.. Can somebody shed some light on the years working visa? And is there anything such as extensions like Australia? And also, can you go back again if you have been on a years working visa? Any input appreciated ..
    :D

There's a big thread on the J1 visa here - it includes discussion of the summer J1 as well as the intern and IWT J1s. You have to have a degree, have graduated within the last year and you can only work in a job related to your degree - i.e. not a bar.

Then there isn't really any option for going to the US bar marrying a citizen or winning a green card in the diversity visa lottery.

or the Trainee Visa, once you have 12 months work experience in whatever your field is. Will need to find a company to hire you before you apply though.

True, you don't need a degree for the trainee visa (link).

A trainee must be a foreign national who has:
    • A degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior related work experience in his or her occupational field outside the United States, or
    • Five years of work experience outside the United States in the occupational field in which they are seeking training.

And remember the US is in the middle of the deepest depression since the 1930's.

And there's no safety net here, people get 12 months of unemployment benefits (and only if they've paid into it already) and then they're completely on their own and there's many millions hitting that point right about now.
