Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Carbon frame vs Aluminium
    Substantially lighter
Better groupset (Ultegra SL vs Mirage/Xenon)
    Better lighter wheels (IMO)

    Not necessarily a plus.

Not necessarily but in my experience of entry level aluminium and carbon bikes I would take carbon every time. Having said that I know nothing of the Basso frame but from the photos I can see of it the weld quality does look very good.

TMG in Skerries also stock Basso. (Not in Cork, I know). Beautiful looking bikes. Unfortunately I had ordered my Madone before TMG started stocking Basso.

One does not brand snob in the direction of Planet X, they are very much the Pennys of bike brands. What Basso is probably on the level of I am not sure... Burberry maybe, they are an old established manufacturer with no particular relation to Ivan B.
