Friday nights in Athlone?

    Hi all,
    heading to athlone some friday night soon. is it busy on a normal friday night? any recommendations on where 4 lads late 20's should be heading?
    appreciate any pointers

    Its not too bad actually. I have been out the last few Friday nights and ended up Coppers late bar. They seem to be getting a slightly better crowd than Karma or Q (both nightclubs).
    They are starting live bands this week on Friday nights, so that may draw more people in. I think they are kicking off at 10.30 - not sure must check their facebook page again.

    As for pubs to head earlier, Richard Graces is nice but a litle bit away from town. Gertie Browns across the road from Coppers is a nice spot.
    And then you have the usual spots over the far side. The snug, Seans Bar and the Castle Inn(nice pints of bud ever!) They'd be nice and a similar crowd to yourselves.

    If your bored there is a whole thread on pubs in Athlone. But stick to any of the above pubs and you'll have a good night.
    If you fancy a feed before you go out, there is no shortage of savage restaurants around.

    think if you go onto sky sports site they have a list of 3d pubs
