Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

kinect is going to be awful . The wii even has better excluisive games comming out this year than the 360.

Devs are holding off on Kinect for the moment. So, for the first year or so it'll be basic enough games that use kinect. By this time next year, once devs see that it has sold well, then expect more hardcore games being developed using kinect.

I'm going to buy it just to be able to browse the menus like in Minority Report... what can I say, I'm a gadget nut :D

Still don't think it'll be anything but a fancier Eye Toy.

Ah so it's a fancier Atari Mindlink?

that's not entirely true, its up to developers to include it. games where you need to stand up, you won't be able to sit down but for things like zune and menu navigation you can use it sitting down.

And that's the state of tech reporting in Ireland. Terrible.

Jesus christ how did they make a balls of this :D

Kinect depends on the price but no I don't believe it will sell very well. I'm hearing walmart in the US are doing bundles up to $200... If you consider over there that that's what the wii costs I'm not so sure.

It really doesn't help that the software is stuff the wii did 3 years ago either.

The move for ps3 is a trickier one to call.

I'm getting another go at Kinect next week (it was still called Natal when I last looked at it :)). I'm completely blown away by that "worn like a headband" thing - how can anyone not at least use google and look at the thing in action?

I think he is just reporting from Oxford, where Kinect and Milo were shown.

    I love gamers.
We (yes I said we) never fail to amaze me.

There are no exclusives (despite the fact that Activision/EA/Rare/Lucas Arts/Ubisoft are all stating that they're working on Kinect titles, or that the Dance game thing - while not my cup of tea - was voted best E3 game, and Forza 3 has Kinect support, as does Fable 3, and that's just three of the thirteen or so games so far released, with MS promising a lot more to be anounced before launch. Oh and if you'd read the article then you'd remember Milo, which is one of the most promissing and far reaching ideas for a game in years.)

You can't use it sitting down (despite the fact that MS have repeatedly said that's not true and that you will be able to sit down.)

People will get bored of it like they did the Wii (despite the way that the Wii is by far still the best selling home console).

Kinect if it works properly, will be a massive deal.

Do you think that developers will ignore Kinect if it's selling well?
    Hardly.
As I said when you have all the biggest developers working on Exclusive Kinect games, then I'm sure that you're gonna get something to play around with.

If you don't like the idea of something, fair enough, you don't need to make things up, or latch onto half truths to prove your point.

I just feel sorry for the millons of families who didn't learn their lesson from the wii and are gonna buy a 360 and kinect expecting it to change their lives.

Looking forward to seeing it in action next week

Pity most of the launch titles will be 2 player only and all are sports/fitness/party games (casual games). Even the CEO of nintendo turned the technology behind it down because he was was worried about latency. It seems also that in last years E3 they demoed object scanning in one of the natal trailers which most likely wont make it in to games because Sony has a patent on object scanning

Kinect will work out cheaper in the long run ! :D

Microsoft have announced that they wont have any hardcore games untill 2011. I wont be buying it untill i have at least 1 game i can play. No interest in jumping in a raft.

I'm in the same boat. The Star Wars game looks interesting, if a bit limited. Nothing there to make me go for the Kinect, certainly not at the 150e mark that's going around.
