Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Following on from a discussion in the Arsenal thread....

Who is your clubs nemesis? What bollocks always has his game of the season or hatrick against you?

For us I present to you; Didier Drogba.

This beast has consistently destroy us and almost single handedly ruined Phillippe Senderos who was pretty promising before Drogba had his wicked way with him. The bollocks.

Senderos also got raped by Torres. In fact, I never thought Senderos was any use.

Drogba had him ruined first. He was actually quite a decent player the year we got to the Champions League Final and as far as I'm aware he was reccommended for Captain by Tony Adams after Henry left that summer. Sadly Drogba ruined him in the early part of the next season and he never recovered.

Gary Twigg is my nemesis, always scores against us (Bohs).

As for my English club, Arsenal, I agree with Drogba being the nemesis, always causes havoc.

Liverpool supporter so Arshavin is starting to look like he may be the new bogey man for us.

Joe Cole was another who popped up a lot in the past with a goal.

Fernando Torres: he always makes Vidic look like a fool and a very mediocre center back, also ferdinand doesn't fair much better than him.

Surely Livepool's nemesis would be Jamie Carragher!!?

Danny Murphy has always been annoying to United, as has Brad Friedel.

As a Blackburn fan i hate to see Arsenal coming, especially when Robin van Persie plays,

I think if memory serves me right,to date he has scored 10 goals in 9 games against Blackburn.

Arshavin and Joe Cole are great shouts for Pool.

another of my votes would go to D-I-E-G-O.

    Mr Forlan.

    Tim Cahill

Twice in the one season they beat us 1-0 with goals from him, and he's had a few more since.

Forgot about Forlan, he comes back to haunt us regardless of what club he is with at the time.

    Glen Crowe

Stupid amount of goals vs Pats easily double figures.

Would not really regard him as one tbh.

Rovers fans feel the same I think, he even scored against them in a Fingal shirt.

United = Danny Murphy, I swear that guy is only still playing for the two games a year against United.

speaking for Newcastle fans, i'd imagine Michael Owen is a big one.

he's on more than a goal a game against them iirc.

Hayden Mullins with West Ham. West Ham have always been a bogey team for us but Mullins always, always played like a star against us for them. This is a team that we would expect to beat but we lost to them I think it was 6 times on the bounce and the one guy that was always there was Hayden Mullins.

Just to give an example I remember he didn't start for them two seasons back and it was 2-2 when he came on in the 80th minute, caused havoc and we lost 4-2, he came on when they were 1-0 down at halftime and they won 2-1. He didn't score many goals or have many assists against us but he was the outstanding player on the park so often when we played them.

I think his record against us is 7 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.

West Ham sold him to Portsmouth in January 2009. Since that time West Ham have not beaten us. Since he moved to Portsmouth he has done nothing against us, nearly the opposite in fact. We have 2 wins from 2 games when he starts for them.

Arsenal have always been a tough team for us and Robin Van Persie has really had his way against us.

Speaking with my Ireland hat on here, Switzerland. Anyone who was in Basle in 2003 understands. When we drew them in WC Qual I was over the moon; "revenge" I thought. Not a chance, they just compounded the hurt and anger from the previous campaign. I hate them, their fans with their poxy little flags and their "Hopp Schweiz" chant. I will die a happy man if we could give them a beating. Or failing that, an invasion :D.

Hakin Yakin was the nemesis, although Alex Frei was high up on the c*ntlist too.

Apart from that nothing else really lasting, such is international football. Some of the worst enemies have been our own players ;)

    Has to be Danny Murphy.

    For Liverpool:
Brad Friedel, always has an outstanding game against us.
    Shay Given, see above.
Joe Cole, popped up with a lot of goals against us.
Didier Droba, always destroys our defence.

For United seemingly every single goalkeeper/center back in the league makes epic saves/tackles that they never seem capable of in previous games...

If I remember correctly their manager at the time Kobi Kuhn had some very derogatory things to say about the style of Ireland and Brian Kerr, which was a bit rich coming from them! So yeah I've had a little smirk to myself whenever they get knocked out of World Cups.

As an Everton fan its gotta be Stevie Me. No wonder i hate him so much :D We also have a habit of letting strikers on 10/15 game barren runs breaking their duck against us! At least Les Ferdinand has retired tho...Jaysus he used to love banging them in against us :)
