Exactly. And Wayne also threatened to blame it on the Gardai.

Wayne and Lizzie are brilliant characters.

Are they? You'd hardly know their names tbh

That was just because Nidge was trying to figure out where he saw him before.

    I was the same.

I figured it out in the end, he was on the Henry McKean TV3 show about travellers. Henry interviewed him on Crough Patrick.

I guess the reek is out as a hiding place if it all goes wrong for Nidgey so.

Report in Irish Indo last week that it cost €600k per episode and that is even when they get some sites to shoot for free

It's more than worth it, IMO, never seen an Irish series as good as Love/Hate.

So they'd just walk away scott free?

I reckon they'd be kept in for the min legal time allowable at least.

Time is a big thing in the Gardai who are already stretched for resources. They arent legally bound to keep him and more than likely wouldnt want to go down a blind alley.

that includes the actors wages, people behind the scenes wages, locations, sound tracks, wardrobe, make up as well as "action scenes" etc etc

Im sure they stuck to a tight budget and didn't over spend for the sake of it

Absolutely and its an absolute cash cow. Speculating a bit and accumulating three fold. Most viewed Irish show of all time.

The gardas arrest people for mickey mouse offences all the time. There is no way they would let this go in real life.

Nidge must be a fecking ninja. I was hoping to see some sword action.

As I said they could have shown us them down the station but that would have been pointless.

....Could have had the same conversation between Nidge and Wayne outside a police station (implying that the same circus took place as before). That would have involved a change of location, the same dialogue and been a lot more believable.

It's a very cheap price when you see the amount of work and people involved behind the scenes. I'd imagine DVD sales income alone covers it multiple times.

Am I the only one who thinks nidge and Fran know they're under surveillance ? Whenever they're talking by the car about loads coming in, it's seems a tad theatrical ...

Almost as if they are actually playing the cops.

I have a feeling it's a decoy of some description

So if they find a lad in the boot of a car they'd just let it go?

Ffs will ya cop on its farsical to believe that nothing would come from it and just afterwards the victim an main suspect are chatting.

Even if they'd left it a few days it'd be much more believable.

I don't think that is that far fetched about the dental nurse. She was spoken to badly, she knew what was going on and gets sacked. She doesn't want that on her CV to hamper her career and earnings. Not surprising she wanted her own back

Exactly and there is no specification of the timeline between each episode whether its months weeks or days. Jesus if you were to show the whole process of Anne Marie getting her p45 and pondering whether to go to the guards you'd have one drawn out boring series. You'd probably have another whole episode of Trish pondering what type of takeaway she'll order and conferring with 'Nigel' (Never hear dialect of what she'll cook though)

Only crime being commited is the guy in the boot not wearing a seatbelt, it would be a €50 on the spot fine once he was 16.

If this keeps up Episode 6 will break the 1 million viewers.

No Ray Darcy in the morning but he is sure to ramp it up on Tuesday plus RTE themselves will be sure to show some all action trailers once Episode 5 is shown next weekend.

It has been great viewing, great writing and fantastic acting.

    Roll on next Sunday night.

The head of the team of Gardai working on this gang stated that there was no point bringing these boys in for small time stuff.

Ah here in scumbag world yes you are right we may be able to pass off spme lad in the boot of the car but where most of us live we don't drive around with fellas in the boot, and if we are caught with fellas in the boot we'd expect to have to spend a while explaining it.

The thing is that it's not a documentary. It uses artistic license. The point of the scene wasn't about the guards finding them. It was to show Wayne not being a rat straight away and Nidge knowing this. The kid was just kidnapped and was told be was going to die and when he was "rescued" he didn't give up Nidge.

Moving it to a few days later wouldn't have helped.

As I said they could have shown us them down the station but that would have been pointless.

They'd have known there was a bigger operation against Nidge. Once the young lad says nothing there isn't any point bringing him to the station.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

What was Lizzie up to? Did she bottle it or what? Last week she wouldn't clip nidge at his ma's funeral. This week she gets herself arrested for GBH. Thought it was a bit out of character unless there's some cunning plan behind it.

It loses money, they were looking for a sponsor for this series and couldn't get one, RTE tried to postpone this season until 2014 to save money but obviously didn't because of the uproar it would cause.

But he accused police brutality and wouldnt hang the lads out to dry so more than likely they said fúck it.

Its obvious the actor that plays fran never done much gardening by the way he was holding the shovel in the graveyard.

Could have been worse for Nidge.

Imagine if the lad was blond haired and blue eyed and there was Roma driving the car

Shot in each leg with a shotgun and left out in the country with no phone...doesn't look good for him.
