I started studying today. Well no, I had planned to... But I didn't. But I will tomorrow, definitely.

    ...maybe

I should study but knowing me I probably wont. Might try and fit some in next week
And besides, this weather is far too nice to be in studying so we should all make the most of it because god only knows if we'll see it again till summer:pac:

The 'big' tests in my school are before Easter, which is kind of annoying, as it leaves the 3rd term tacked on with no real academic goal at the end.

It does, however, stop me feeling guilty for not even going into the room in which I study for the duration of the Easter break.

I am dreading that results envelope when it comes though, in particular maths; there was a trig question about a tetrahedron - traumatised doesn't even come close.

Guys, Do any of ye have one of those female teachers who keep going on maternity leave?. My French teacher is going on Maternity leave at the end of this year again..This is the teacher I was supposed to have for the last 5 years, i've only had 2 years as she keeps going on leave. It's so frustrating and very annoying! >:(.. Especially as she's actually soooo good and nice!. It peeves me off to be honest! :(.. I thought i'd manage a strong B and maybe even an A in My Exam but I doubt it very much now! :(. Any of ye that do French have any good ways of improving my French? All aspects like.. Thanks for any advice!

YES! In my school, two of the three HL English teachers are pregnant, and the other one is only a sub for one who is on maternity leave :|

Imagine, a woman wanting to have a family...! We have a teacher who in the past 6 years has not taught a full year. Out of the 60 (or so) teachers in my school 1 is a man. Yes, 1! Most are young (under 45) and so every September it's who's pregnant, married or engaged!

1? :O, there's a good few male teachers in my school I have to say: All DCG, Technology, Physics, History departments are Male!. I can understand that she wants to have a family, this does not bother me in the slightest. What bothers me is why the school keeps giving her Higher Level Classes if they realise she's like a rabbit with kids! :/ fecking ridiculous if you ask me, and totally unfair on the students who get use to one teaching style and suddenly whoopsy, learn like this whether you like it or not! :(..

Come to think of it, do many of ye have Any Male Foreign Language Teachers? (French, German, Spanish, Italian etc.) I don't know any in any of the 5 nearby schools!

Ahaha same. My first year Home Ec teacher has had a baby every year for the last four years so every time she comes back from maternity leave they get rid of the sub, she gets pregnant again and they bring in another sub. I feel bad for her classes tbf

I'm a total lurk who isn't even in 5th year but managed to come across this, just gonna say two words. Michel Thomas. Google him, he's the reason for my newfound success in French, in such a short time. Yes it starts out as very very basic, but it actually helps so much with remembering all sorts of rules and exceptions and everything, trust me, I have an absolutely crap teacher so I have to do my best. He does an advanced course too, which I haven't got around to yet, but it's probably even better. If you wanna PM me I could send you a link which would...err...ease the burden of acquiring it. Indeed.

Eleven teachers in our school have had babies this year, another few are about to go, I just wish we could predict who would go, my Irish and English teacher (same person) is unreal...but if she goes I'll be livid. Have seen her out eating and socialising with her fella so there's a lot of loving etc...I hope she holds out til after next year! And yes I know they're entitled to have babies etc but I just hate change!!!

This drives me insane! I have a few teachers who have been in 2 of the 5 years I've been in the school. Right now theres around ten who are either on maternity or pregnant. Its so unfair when they're given to higher LC classes.

I'm hoping to get an A in English this time because I think I've really improved. Hopefully an A1 in French and if I can maintain A2s in everything else and a B1 in maths I'll be happy enough. Going to have to do massive quantities of work from here on in to get there though :(

Our Irish teacher has ten of the picture sequences done but is refusing to let us learn them verbatim as she's in with the people setting the marking scheme and said it'd bode badly for us so I'd suggest doing them yourself and getting them corrected which is what she is doing for us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 566 ✭✭✭seriouslysweet

Oh and no study done yet, was out working with my uncle, spoke only Irish so I suppose (hope!) that counts!

Ya that's what my teacher is doing too. They are such a pain though :(

Fair play, that's some dedication. Bought biology exam papers a few days ago and I flicked through them, personally i feel I'm onto an A1.
