Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea of the route for this??

The only info I can see for it is here:

    http://www.lakesidewheelers.ie/events/tourofthelakes-18thjuly

    and

    http://www.irishcycling.com/publish/news/art_4857.shtml

Some more details re route etc would be greatly appreciated :)

I was going to do the Trip to Tipp cycle this weekend but looking at this one instead, the site's a bit short of detail re: route etc. so I've mailed the organisers and will post as soon as I have a reply.

I got a reply but no details of the route, you can sign on on the day from 9am, the tour starts at 10am from Mullingar rugby club, there's snacks and drinks on the route, the 100km route is actually 110km distance and there's hot food at the finish, sounds good for €15.

Hi, I have done this a few times and its a good day out.The first loop of about 40k is kept together and done at leisure pace with lots of chat. After the restart it gets lively quite quickly and groups of different ability form. A guide for the 2nd loop is Mullingar-Crookedwood-Collinstown-Fore-Castlepollard-Coole - Multyfarnham and out on N4 about 10k from Mullingar. The roads are generally rolly and will require a bit of work to hang in the front groups.

what they usually do is take you on a flat 15 mile circular route from the rugby club and back again then second part is around 40 miles different direction with one long drag no big hill's but as i said get yourself into a nice group and you will enjoy the day,it's the local lads that usually race off as if they were going for a personal best stay well away from them

Slightly different this year Its just one big loop with an optional bit tagged on the end. Here is some of the details from our weekly notes.
It will set off from the Rugby club in Cullion at 10.00am. Signing on commences at 9.00 and you are urged to get there in good time to facilitate an on-time departure. The tour itself will be split into three groups based on likely average speeds and will take cyclists through Killucan, Raharney, and over towards Castlepollard, Streete and then eventually home via Multyfarnham. The (very modest) signing on fee covers entry to the event, free spare tube, map, energy bars and drinks etc. mechanical backup, and a hot meal at the close of the day.
