Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Diego Forlán, Kun Aguero or Keith Fahey.

Can't decide which. They're all naturally-gifted technical players.

Was it this one? Starts around 0:35.

This is how I remember him. It was an amazing goal.

Henry or Tevez probably, or Henrik Larsson, although Henky had a bit of an off-day when I saw him and Henry was so-so, whereas Tevez was on fire.

I have seen most of the best premier league players most years. I always go to the games against the top 4 or so. I would love to have seen more european games but I have never gone to a chams league game. I would say tevez was the best player I have seen on a consistant bases.

    Alan O'Neill

    Pat Scully at Shels

    Paddy McCourt

    Gary Twigg

Honourable mentions would go to Kevin Doyle and Ollie Cahill in his Cork and Shels prime

    Torres for me.

I saw John Barnes but it was during his fat and lazy period :(

Ok so we've had the obligatory LoI references, Gary Breen's cropped up and so has Kevin Kilbane.

Who wants to mention Paul McShane and make it a proper Soccer forum thread?

    All in the Dutch league:

Cruijff, Van Hanegem, basically all players of the Dutch WC74/78 squads.
All players of the 88 team (Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, Koeman)
Ronaldo, Romario, Bergkamp, Seedorf, Stoichkov (in a friendly with barca against Feyenoord), Laudrup brothers

Several european top teams on european cup nights at Feyenoord

Too many to name them all. or to remember...

Best of them all was most likely Cruijff. He played at Feyenoord aged 37 but was still a fantastic player.

I've seen Zidane, Henry, Keane, Gerrard, Owen, Shearer and a few more top class players perform, but the performance that sticks out most in my memory was actually Jon Otsemobor if any Liverpool fans remember him. Was always impressed with Steve Finann too whenever I saw him play for Liverpool or Ireland.

At LoI level it would probably have to be given to Wes Hoolahan.

No contest for me, was blessed and privileged to see Thierry Henry many times, the best player ever to play for Arsenal and to grace the premiership imo scored many a great goal and made the impossible possible many many times, not only was his contribution on the pitch for Arsenal huge but having a player like Thierry at the club contributed to the club being able to move to The Emirates imo.

Loved watching his off the ball movement on the pitch also, the understanding he built up with his team mates was incredible, will always remember the goal he scored against Charlton at Highbury, the back heel

Desailly, Deschamps, Weah, Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Petit, Robinho, Gerrard, Alonso, Zanetti, Ibrahimovic, Lucio, Eto'o, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Messi, Ballack, Drogba and Lampard are the best I've seen, hard to choose who played the best when I was present. I'd probably go with Zanetti, seen him 3 times and every time he was one of the best on the field.

Zidane or the real Ronaldo at Barca when he was at his best.

Ryan Giggs! No doubt about it. Unreal in the flesh. A player always impressed me for Ireland was John Sheridan, class act.

Easy one for me,has to be Dennis Bergkamp. Got to many games at Highbury over the years and it was a joy to watch DB10 in action. His goals, his movement, his eye for a pass, amazing to watch in the flesh.

Messi vs Real Santander Jan 09,started as a sub at half time. the crowd had been chanting his name the last 10 minutes of the first half.

Henry...the cheat. As much as I don't like him now, he was a sublime player at his peak.

Xavi, makes CM look much simpler than it is (and we all know it ain't!).
