Where is the best place to order used car parts? i.e. items im referring to includes panels, glass, doors wings etc etc. Pehaps people in the trade on boards would know?

Ive already had a look on http://www.partfinder.ie/ and they dont have any to suit the vehicle.

Ive already sent an email to Traynors in the North and im waiting for a reply.

    Any where else?

Im the part im looking for at the moment is an ECU for someone at work as a favour. Its for a VW new beetle (another casualty of the blocked plenum drains). It isnt any ordinary beetle thou......factory fit 2.0 GTI engine.

The one in the link is already gone thou.

VW Main dealers want approx 1500euro

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately ive already tried ebay and nixon car dismantlers as it was included in partfinder.ie search.....plenty about for the 1.4 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 petrols but not the 2.0 Gti.

    Part numbers are the following

    VW Part number: 06A 906 018 EJ
    Bosch 0 261 206 327

    Its to suit engine AYQ.

Water damaged PCB inside the ECU casing no burnt contacts thou.

It was already sent a place specialising in ECU repair.........not repairable apparently.

Its only going to cost €10-15 postage. no fixable, no fee:D

Not sure where your wires are crossed but the AYQ engine is a 1.9sdi, also your part number does't exist on VW database.

Exact same ECU as in the Link above. Rarer than hens teeth by the looks of things. 100% sure that the part numbers are correct as I literally have the ECU cover beside me :-)

EDIT: Typo in serial in earlier post....now corrected (06A 906 018 EJ)

The car was a special order RHD ordered in Holland. I have a recent copy of VAGS ELSAWIN and im fairly sure it was listed in vehicles in its database.

Dunno if the injectors, timing etc would be the same on a Golf 2.0GTI ECU. Or would a standard Beetle 2.0 ECU with a remap do.

Yup, I had noticed that i was being directed to VW caddys alright.....SDI instead of GTI. Enging code is correct thou (AYQ) ill cross reference it with ELSAWIN tonight as the 2.0 GTI engine code of a Mk4 Golf is AQY. ECU is a different serial thou.
