Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Officially, you are supposednto be with them for 3 months, in practice not. Check in my 3 to see if you're enabled for roaming or not.

    Roaming tariff?

Well, not tariff. You know there is Three like Home, for instance, and then another which I can't remember.

They wanted to charge me a 75 quid deposit, over a credit card, which is a no go for me since I don't have one. Looks like I will be waiting for my unlock to go through and just not using a phone for a few days! How annoying.

3 Like Home is not a tariff per se, just a facility which all 3 customers benefit from when roaming on 3 in another 3 country.

The add-on is the EU roaming tariff which obviously does not apply to the USA.

Further to my comments of yesterday, my bill has just dropped again by a perplexing 4c.

    Again, keep your peepers open.

According to CS I've been charged for "...about 3 or 4 MMS..." that I never sent. They can't find the number I sent them too and have asked I that wait till tomorrow when my bill is itemised and the numbers will be revealed. All I do know is I replied to a few MMS messages, perhaps 3, but haven't sent any. So far for 2 voice mail calls and their alleged MMS to unknown numbers I've being charge 1.81.

What date is the billing cycle, i though it was today and will get new flexi units but not.
Can you check before the bill generates what the charges are for?

Further, further again and as well, have just been to the Apple Store in Belfast to bring my handover issues at the border to their attention. Have now got brand-new iphone 4 without quibble. >broad grin<

When you reply to MMS, you must be careful to choose to reply either by SMS or MMS. If there is a subject in the subject area, then you will send an MMS by default and be charged for it accordingly.

I never knew that. I just opened the MMS to view then replied to it in the same window. At least I know now, thanks. Still baffled as to the odd few cent increments my bill went up over the last 2 weeks. Anything from 3, 5 and 9 cents. Suppose I'll have a better idea in the morning. Anyway, first month out of the way and switching was from VF was a great move. Oodles of units and data left. One very happy camper here.

Yes, same here. All manner of weird little charges and debits without rhyme nor, let's not forget, reason.

"The FaceTime issues are known about and we have esculated them to the highest priority within Apple, and we will take care of any issues you are having, don't worry about it." (including charges, it sounds like.)

As for the 3G switching issues, I was then sent to an iPhone specialist, who said that the problems should now be solved, if your carrier reads '3 Ireland 7.1' in the Settings > General > About area, and suggested that if I was still having problems, I should first reset network settings, and then manually select the 3 (3g) carrier myself. A note was added to my account, saying that if I were to phone back I should be esculated back up to iPhone technical support and we would work through the issues then.

Looks like 3 are starting to get their support together! The first women I was talking too was very helpful and friendly, and after checking with a supervisor informed me that everything would be taken care of. The man in iPhone technical support was equally friendly and helpful, and really sounded like he knew what he was talking about, instead of just reading off a script.

Let's see how this works then!

I've purchased an iphone 4 on the 29th August, manufactured wk32, and have had the 3G reconnect problems out of the box. I've rang apple support and they said it was the first they'd heard of. Same with 3 Ireland customer support, they said no-one had complained about this before but they will look into it...this was on the 31st August. From all your posts it sounds like they have not solved the problem and are now fobbing people off or outright lying about it... it's one thing to say they are still "looking into it" but quite another to say it's the first they's heard of it when clearly it isn't. I can't get data on GSM either which exacerbates the problem but 3 Ireland customer support that's a known problem with the iPhone4 which they are also "looking into". FYI I upgraded to iOS 4.0.2 out of the box (because iTunes asked me too) and have the 7.1 carrier settings.

Turns out I'm being billed for 4 MMS that were sent to emails. There are no phone numbers just 2 pals email addresses..?

Anybody else getting a horrible static noise in the back of all calls? It makes it hard for others to hear.

nope, nobody has mentioned anything. someone said my voice has never been clearer before and it was kinda "hmmm".

listening to other calls- no problems either, apart from the girlfriend's face hitting every key on her hd2 and it reverberating down to me (proximity sensor off?).

Update from 3 Customer Service (tier 2 Iphone support)

Fix for GPRS issues was applied on September 1st and was not applied. EDIT: That line makes no sense. The fix was applied but it didn't work!

They will apparently call me back in 24hrs with an updated time frame for new fix

    Pawned off again

Was just told by 3 Customer service that free Add-on went live yesterday, did anyone notice that?

Sending email via MMS is a normal practice but is billed as MMS.

Have to say, can't see the point in the majority of their add-ons. The only one attracted me was the European calls and now even that has been negated by their partnership with gocall.ie.

I realise this sounds paranoid (but hey it helps to be), but there's no mention of gocall.ie on the Three web site. How do you know it's not a scam?

    Well, a fair point. I don't.

But a) it carries the 3 logo b) I tried it and it worked and c) someone here mentioned a 3 operator recommended it 'tother day. So, checking my bill before and afterwards reveals no dodginess therefore I am quite happy to continue.

Fair enough - but 650 units a month, 2GB data, wifi, Skype and so on -am pretty covered. There's only so much talking a girl can do!
