Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They took Sikipedia, and I did not speak out because I just waited until people created facebook groups.

Then they came for Urbandictionary, and I did not speak out because I didn't really care what OTMAGEL meant.

But then they went after my porn, now it's ON.

You need to figure how many minutes and texts you get for your credit with meteor, and see if thats covered by the 3 plan.

No one can recommend whet add on is best for you without you giving more information. Do you call landlines mostly, do you mostly use your phone in the evenings and at weekends....

The UFC site works fine, the site that doesn't is nodq.com, which the other guy was complaining about.
Sikipedia is also blocked over 3G but not WiFi
There's been quite a few I just can't think of right now.

Just checked all these here now.

    Binrev works
    NoDq works
    Sickpedia wroks
    Urbandictionary works
    Xtube works

Al these sites work over 3 3G, there not blocked. Used 2 different phones and 2 different sims, no problem getting to any of the sites with either phone or sim.

I'm the same, 3g not blocking any sites/apps. Don't have xtube or Nodq to test.

I'm going to come out and say that in Dublin, Three is working perfectly except for when you have to toggle "Airplane Mode" the odd occasion to switch between GPRS/3G.

You can also buy a jellysms or eirtext app to use up your 333 monthly webtexts from 3.

    1) Install Jelly Sms/ Eirtext

    - Off the bat 333 text messages to non-iphone/android/blackberry users

    2) Install Whatsapp

    - Costs 79c and you can text any other iphone/android/blackberry with the same app installed. Better than the Instant Messenger apps in my opinion because you get a delivery report (within the app) when 1) your message has been sent and 2) when the message has been viewed. If you or the other person is offline the message will appear once they open the app. My girlfriend (on O2) also uses this so it saves a good bit for texts during the day time.

    3) Choose your add on pack

    - With the way I have my phone set as above I went with the 150 mins evening and weekend calls to any mobile/landline.

    4) Use up your remaining 350 units

    - I'm with 3 just under 4 weeks and at the time of checking I've 276 flexi units left to use. I find there's very few units I'm using because I tend to text more than I talk, don't really talk during the day time because of my job so any calls I make in the evenings are usually covered by Step 3 above!

Only negative thing I have to say about 3 is that they won't let me carry over any unused units, not a major thing though considering I probably won't go through them all.

Just checked all these here now.

    Binrev works

You just cost me 5€, sir. I topped up and went to www.binrev.com and got redirected to the dreaded "This web page is unavailable to view" page, URL of the redirection is http://mobile.3ireland.ie/pc/Live/pcreator/live/mwsun. I guess you are using the 3internet APN, which isn't the default (3ireland.ie is). 3internet is not censoring, 3ireland.ie is.
    NoDq works

    No, it doesn't.
    Sickpedia wroks

    This one indeed works.
    Urbandictionary works

    No, it doesn't.
    Xtube works

    No, it doesn't.

Should have mentioned i'm bill pay and over 18, could understand if some sites are blocked for pre pay users as their ages are un verified. On pay as you go you used to be able to take your id to a 3 store and they would then allow full access, I don't know how you do it now or if you can. I think comreg put certain restrictions around pre pay interent.

I was not using an iphone 4, if your using an iphone and you can't access them then it's phone specific.

I can access all those sites so they do work.

Well then it's specific to iphone 4 users.

Which is weird as i can access all those sites on iphone 4 on O2.

I have the exact same issue. Do I just ring 1913 to add my complaint?
    Yep, that's what I did.

Can anyone confirm that the ios 4.1/ carrier update 8.0 solves the need to toggle airplane mode on/off?

It doesn't solve it for me anyway.

what apn are u using, someone mentioned that its blocked on certain apns

The best of both on 3 looks like a very good plan. For me anyway. The ongoing promotion gives the B.O.B 25 for only 20euro and gives an extra 100 flexi units.

Possibly the best network for the iphone. How is the 3 reception?

Again, for the thousandth time, it's 3 blocking it, not the iPhone.

Must be 3 but there only blocking it on iphone 4, so yes these sites work on 3 but just not on iphone4's . No idea why that is unless someone has asked them to restrict sites to iphone4 users, apple are capable of anything, wouldn't surprise me if they ordered the block.
Has anyone tried their iphone4 sim in an ordinary 3 phone and see are they still blocked?

To confuse things even further, download the free browser Opera from the App store. All the sites that are apparently blocked on Safari open in Opera...??

So, your way of blaming Apple is they chose Three as the only network to block the sites and only over 3G? Stop trying to blame Apple for something that is so obviously the networks doing.

Opera accesses web sites through a proxy. I haven't looked into it in detail, Three either has a transparent proxy or their DNS returns a different IP from the real one for blocked sites. All of this is circumvented by Opera using a proxy, so none of the sites are blocked.

Anyway, we shouldn't be having this discussion at all as no mobile operator should be censoring internet content.

Yeah, I said that earlier, but the Opera app is rubbish. What do you think of it? I do use it though when I want to look at a site blocked through safari.

I don't think much of it, had it before, just download it again today to try those sites.

I just rang cc about the 3G connectivity issues. As far as the tech support guy was concerned the problem that most iPhone 4 users were reporting is their handsets not connecting to 3G at all - be it manually or automatically. I told him he had got it wrong and told him about this thread, supposedly he is a member of boards.ie and has commented on this thread?

He says that the issues I'm experiencing (dropping 3G connectivity and not automatically reconnecting - needing to toggle airplane mode etc) are unique to my handset. Rubbish. Looks like I will be switching back to meteor after all

Edit: forgot to mention, he also said to ask everyone with the same issue to call cc so they have it on file that more than one user is reporting the issue. Very poor customer care team if you ask me.

what sort of rubbish is that?

Rubbish that it is restricted to that poster's handset only.

Have you tried the sim in a different 3 phone yet, i'm not blaming apple but it seems quite strange 3 would only block iphone4 from accessing certain sites when every other 3 phone has no problem accessing them.
    It's strange that is all.
