Mortgage in principle

    Hi all,

    Just wondering how long it takes to get a Mortage in principle?

    We have just sold our house (contracts signed) so we are now in a position to put in offers.
    We have been looking but up until now it has been just that, looking, but now that we have moving out date time is not on our side.
    We have seen a house we like so we know the amount, so what I am wondering is if I call the bank today, when will I get the mortgage in principle (no loans and assuming i can get any items they want quickly to them)?
