I was looking forward to coming home and playing sf4 online but after the casual session earlier, online seems rather dull and more irritating.
Its actually crazy how many people are involved in fighting games now, few years back, while online gaming was dreadful, offline scene did'nt even exist.
With youtube not readily available, downloading huge GB's of avi's was the only source of watching most matches.
I actually remember posting on SRK see'ing if there was anyone from ireland.
Playing 3s on XBOX with yanks at late hours in the morning had to do for competition and practice.
We really have to thank diago's incredible come back at evo for igniting the fighting game passion in most peoples hearts. Many people at this stage will not agree but that moment played a major part in sparking interest amongst other gamers.
Fast forward now after cps2 emulation and a dry spell of no fighting game releases, bar ARC SYSTEMs crazy guilty gear series, SF4's success has no opened up a realm of new releases.
So hats off to conor and terry, ramza and all the 'pioneers' that stuck with the non existent scene.
Till this day we welcome and support people sticking with the scene, just like the way i posted bogus posts so Ry wouldnt sell his stick and to take it to another level i even let him win today, because as harsh as it sounds, i was the sole reason he got down to quitting, last game played was with me. trashed the poor boy but now hes back with a vengeance, so let the boy win now and then.

    the end
