    Dia daoibh go léir,
    I am trying to help someone translate (into French) or at least understand some of the language of the book The Famine by Liam O'Flaherty. I'm not Irish and I'm finding it quite difficult.
    Here's an example-
    "That belongs to her mother," said Kitty. "The old witch! I believe she's half a jumper. I have no idea of what this could mean. Could somebody kindly explain it to me please?
