Bring a lock and tie it to the metal rainings around the trees...thats what I did for the 5 mile and it was fine.

My former lazy self was sitting on the couch eating crisps doing no running, so tomorrow is my first 10 miler ever (previous longest 8.5 in training resulted in a crock leg for the past two weeks) so by hook or by crook I'm going to finish

mcmillan is telling me I should be able to do this in 80 mins based on a very fast 5miler a month ago - did 82m last year with little or no training so if I can match or better that I'll be delightegated!

Finished in 76:24 so 3mins off a PB but windy, died in the last 2 miles which were flat and usually my fastest but maybe feeling the Clonmel 14.29miler last Sunday and having being injured since.Course went astray and looked like we were going down the kyber at one stage before we went back on Chesterfield Ave--tell me that this is not the 3rd race in a row i did that was mismeasured
Enjoyed it and happy leg held up.Passed RQ at 2m.Only gripe was one of the water stations should have had bottles--i nearly choked at the 2nd stop despite having run a good few races i still couldn't get it to go down right from the cup while running despite squeezing the cup..

Just home! Delighted - my first 10 mile ever :)
Did it in about 110, found the uphill section tough - and I've been dying all week with a cold. So am happy that I finished. Would defo think about 1/2 marathon now.

Well 68.17 for me so a new pb by 4 mins or so for me so thrilled. Perfect weather but the choke was all out from about 9 miles. I'ld prefer the course long as well than the 4.9 the last time. I hope all did well and got the time they were after.

I think Woodle got my photo a couple of times and i tried to smile. Did you get any shots of Caitriona McK? Great to say that we ran in the same race as someone that good.

Also why did they not tell everyone that the course down Chest Ave was changed? They had ample time to do so at the start or do they care at all about the people who run the event?

I hope the guy who was put in the ambulance at 9.5 miles is ok. Felt like that could,be any of us on any given day.

91:31 for me - I said 93 on the list so that's better than I originally thought. Would have really loved sub 90 but the heat nearly killed me today. Maybe if it's cooler for the half I might get a bit faster. My only other 10 mile was this race last year and my time was 105 mins so I'm a little bit faster this year:D

Very happy with my 80.55, and with the race in general. I also got 10.05 for the distance so no problems there, the fruit at the end was very welcome, and starting at the front of the second wave was great. (Strangely, my chip time and clock time are only a couple of seconds off - did they 'restart' the clock for the later waves?)

The goody bag was a bit light, there was some confusion over the waves - the race material said wave 2 was for 85+, but the signs on the day were from last year and said 70+), and the people in the cherry picker at the beginning were bloody annoying (no, this is not perfect weather, why are you telling me now that I should drink water - do you have some for me?, and would you please just switch off the music and STFU) - but these are minor gripes. All the important things were spot on.

I think i was talking to you on the course?! Said ya were off to Spain?!Also after the race ya said you missed out by 2 seconds! so unlucky.. The pace up the first hills killed me and the heat was tough out there. My Garmin said 1 hour 34 secs after 10 miles and 1 hour 53 secs when i stopped. Think the course was a bit longer than usual (257 feet). A well organized event all the same..

Some like him (I do), some hate it. Silence could be worse.

66:36 for me, 16 sec worse than last year. Very congested until I got to the back road around 2 miles in. I was happy to have been able to overtake a number of people in the last 1.5 miles, and get a nice (relative) "sprint" to the finish.

The short diversion down Acres Road threw me a bit.
There was a surprising number of cars on the Phoenix to Gough (middle to Zoo) - I don't believe that that stretch was closed at 8am.

My result is displaying wrong !

It's displaying 96 mins. That's the time that also displayed on the finish line when I crossed.
I started in the beginner wave about 2 mins after the horn sounded so it's impossible that my result is the same as the finish line clock since that started at the horn on the first wave.

Also, my chip time is the same as my finish time, which again shouldn't be since I crossed the start line at least 2 mins after horn blew.

    Pretty miffed about this.

(The last shuttle bus was stopped by Gardai at 9:45, so everyone (full bus) was dropped off at the Zoo and had to run to the start. Should have arrived earlier myself, I know)

Missed a few of the mile markers and and I don't remember all the others (took the wrong watch today). I knew I went out too fast after hitting 2 miles at 12'30 (! very silly, I know) and 5 miles at 33'20 and with the heat it was going to be tough to keep it going. So it proved and I died a little on the hills, watching figs, chinguetti, christeb and so many others power past, just getting in with the clock showing just over 70, and the chip shaving enough to save my prediction.

As I'd hoped, it's a PB at a 10 mile race but not for 10 miles (66'41 for first 10 in last year's half). Looking forward to the half, I'd like to keep to McMillan's prediction off today's time, but a PB is probably a step too far.

Good to meet the "club" mates at the end.

Ran 59:42. Never got comfortable on the run and finished about a minute slower than I was looking for. I didn't blow up, I just couldn't get up to speed at any stage. Distance wise, I reckon the course was bang on (as opposed to previous years, where I always felt it was just slightly short).

92.15 which was faster than my predicted 95
Found the distance very hard, was going backwards on the last 2 miles
However considering I hadn't run the distance ever before and that my training was curtailed for past 2 weeks I can't be too unhappy

Couldn't find the right wave to start in at the beginning- there was a sub 70 group sign and a over 100 sign and that was it. I went a little more than half way between the two
First water station was terrible. They didn't have enough people pouring water- had to wait for water to come
That aside all was fine with organisation- at least the distance was correct
For all the talk from the MC i never heard an apology for a short course last time out.

87:27 which was a bit disappointing to be honest as I did 84:20 at home 3 days ago! I expected to be faster than that especially considering it was in a race format!

Anyway, it's all just part of the marathon training.

    Really enjoyed it today anyway.

I had 10.09 on the garmin too, got the extra back from the 5-miler!

Well after weeks of hard training unfortunately my body let me down today. I found the heat and sun very difficult, by mile 3 I was feeling the effects of it (cold chills and nausea) despite being very well hydrated before the race. From then on it was a physical and moreso a mental struggle to complete it, as I knew it wasn't going my way. My time was much slower than I had hoped, and I'm really disappointed in myself.

This is the third time this has happened to me (twice before when training on warmer days), I honestly couldn't have drank more water in the past few days if I'd tried (at least 5 litres yesterday), so not sure where to go from here. I'm going to be very worried before the half marathon, but I'm going to keep training for it, as if I pull out now I think I'll find it hard to get the confidence to ever come back to this running business. So not too happy in the runrabbit house tonight!

I was really confused at the deviation from the course but my head was so fuzzy at that stage that I didn't question it!
