Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Slightly of topic but Floyd Landis is riding the Cascade classic stage race in the USA as part of a documentary with ABC I think

This quote seems very sad to me ..

"Crowds lined the streets in the Old Mill District to catch a glimpse of Floyd Landis. Race organizers added the controversial cyclist, who is racing without a team, to the registration one day prior to the event’s start date.
He was the brunt of laughter during the short time trial for wearing a novice looking outfit. Rather than wear a blank racing skin suit, he chose to sport a grey baggy T-shirt and nondescript black cycling shorts with his numbers sloppily pinned on the back, loose enough to catch wind and create a small sail.
“The chief official said that it is a USCF rule that if you are going to wear a jersey that has the name of a business or a sponsor there has to be a licensed team,” said Executive Director Chuck Kenlan. “Essentially he had to wear something plain with no sponsor on it and he just found a grey t-shirt and that was what he wore.”"

Fascinating stuff. Certaintly looks cleaner. Check out the time gaps. Gone are the days when a climber takes two minutes out of the next best guy in the Tour. Ok A.S. and A.C. are pretty similar but even the gaps back to the next guys are small.

Remember Armstrong would win his Tours by an average of 6 minutes with Ullrich a further 2 or 3 minutes ahead of the next guy! The top four guys this year are covered by less than 4 minutes. 10 and half minutes cover the top ten.

They have access to all the doping test data?

Yeah even the comments that follow it are very interesting.

    Did you read the article?

    Did you read the article?

Yes. It didn't mention any doping test data.

So there's your answer. Do you not agree with the article or the general thrust of it?

I was thinking the same when you look how the giro was, very similar.

I was thinking the same myself, but then when you add in the variable weather/fatigue and crashes that went with the tour..it all looks..different
Well there is fatigue every year and there are not many crashes on the climbs which is what they look at, as drafting is less of an issue. Wind direction usually comes into the discussions somewhere along the lines also.

Of course its not an exact science and I would say doping is still prevalent but if the success of the French is anything to go by, the gains are getting smaller. Unless the French have gone back on the juice.

Any further news on Mr Petacchi?

Cav is 20/1 to win green, if Petacchi gets thrown out and Cav wins today and Sunday, Thor needs two finishes of greater than 6th to get the green (not counting intermediates of course).

It looks a better bet than 10/11 about Cav winning today.

Was his father caught a few years ago with substances or was that just a rumour?

The Da's car was stopped and searched by the Gendarme during the Tour a year or two ago but nothing was found.

you may be confusing him with his brother who has a very dodgy past. He admitted to paying Dr Fuentus large amounts of money for "training plans". But we all know what the real reason was considering the Dr. knows very little about training.

What? A Madrid based gynecologist knowing nothing about training? Never!

I think that's unfair to poor Frank.
A 27yr old male cyclist would be mad not to pay €10,000 to a Spanish gynaecologist he'd never met for "training advice"......

Once again RobFowl thinks that victory is his in the Smart Quip Grand Prix only for El Tonto to jump off his wheel and take it on the line.
