    Hello good Galwegians!

I know this probably has been asked a thousand times before, but clubs fall in and out of favour all the time, so looking for a bit of up-to-date advice.

There's a group of 14/15 of us from Cork coming up to Galway this Friday for the weekend, boys and girls, all aged 20/21/22.

So just wondering.. what clubs are the happening places in Galway at the moment? Just your normal chart music type stuff!

Have been to Galway a good few times before, been to Cuba and Karma (found Karma a bit pretentious, but this might just have been me:p) and the GPO..

Are these places still good? (Were they ever good?!) Looking more for clubs than pubs, as college students, we couldn't be affording to go pre-drinking in a pub!

So any advice would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

arts festival in galway this week...so dont limit yourself to nightclubs. Plenty late bars with live music...would be cheaper on pocket too

There is central park nightclub... BUT its always wedged. I mean its hard to breathe in the place. Since it was refurbished it has been like a cattle mart. Its a really inside though. Plays good music too. Take a look at their website. Id advise you to head to the kings head down shop street. It would be ideal for the festival because you can bring the drink outside onto shop street and im sure there will be some entertainment. Enjoy your night!

    Thanks for the replies.;)

I'm hearing things about Coyote's, is it any good? Is it between the bus station and the Tourist Office?

Also, would Cuba be worth a trip on Saturday nights?

    Thanks again!

coyotes is terrible imo maybe for such a large group it won't be so bad but no-one from galway really goes there! for that kind of age group cps is probably your best bet on a friday or sat cuba is good on a sat nite! a group that size anywhere'll be pretty good

Across the river you could try the trendy/alternative/studenty area known as "the wesht"

Since it got refurbished, CP's has been the only decent nightclub in the city, and is by far and away the best option for the 18-23 age group
