Gmail - Account Disabled

I have had my gmail account for the last 4/5 years never an issue - tried to log in yesterday and it told me that my account had been disabled :mad: - I tried to contact them to get it reactivated but it keeps asking for an email address that they can contact me on - em hello you have disabled it how can I give you one the only other one I have is my work one which I can't give.

Can anyone point in the direction of a help number or something I can ring - I need to get access to my emails

there isnt a help number!!! something similar happened to me, and it was because my account had been hacked, and was being used as a scam address on ebay....so if you have any kind of online account that had the same password as the gmail account, change them quickly!!

Then, set up a new gmail account as use that as your contact address for gmail help.
They will ask you to provide them with alot of info relating to your gmail account, off the top of my head I think I was asked who had sent me the original invite, when I opened my account, 5 people I regularly email from the account....things like that. After they were satisifed that I was me, they reestablished my account. Actually I gave them details of flights I had booked, which helped them verify my identidy, maybe try that.

But the most important thing is to check your other online accounts IMMEDIATELY as its most likely your account has been hacked for a scam

Make a new temp gmail account for them to contact you on? When you get it sorted just delete the temp account. Or if you have to use the temp account aswell for recieving from other people just forward it to your main account.

I used my work email and they were very fast to get back to me because of it. mainly because my name matched the acount Tallon@workemail.com

Hey Mark thanks for that unfortunately I don't have an alternative email to give them that is my issue.

Set up an account with another free provider such as hotmail or yahoo then. It takes seconds.

Hey thanks have done that - have sent an email to gmail and still waiting to hear back from them - getting a little worried cause I can't get in and its been a few hours now

My account got hacked from China over the weekend and spam e-mails were sent from my account. So everyone beware. Get those passwords changed often

When my account was disabled it took around 4-5 days for google to resolve, so I really wouldnt worry, it will most definitely take more than a few hours!!
