Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dont have kids but if I ever do I have the training plan already thought of.
1st thing would be to move to the alpes. There is no way my kid will be a **** climber ...

My three kids are already on a strict training regime for budding cyclists. They only eat cake.

It has to be possible to slot a child's bike into a turbo-trainer, put it all into the front of a cargo bike and the jury-rig the turbo trainer to provide power to the front wheels. Make the little buggers work for it!

I dont know but i did sit him on the bars for a bit just to get a reaction while i was on the trainer haha

Oddly enough, I aided my my second child in completing the transition to a stabilizer-free existence only yesterday. Nary a dry-eye in the house...

This is probably slightly off the topic. On carrying children on the bike, if anyone knows where i could find a used cargo bike/bakfiets here in Ireland or anyone would be interested to sell theirs please keep me in mind..:)

Hi thntp, I just noticed that Bear Bicycles of Portabello are selling this cargo bike with child seats now. Don't know what the standard price on this kind of thing is so I've no idea if that's good value. I think they look pretty beautiful.

I arse about at cycling and my wife is training for the marathon. We have four children aged between one and eight. A bit of give and take helps but so does a willingness to get out of bed at an unearthly hour.

By the way, when I saw the thread title, I thought this might be heading in a dodgy direction. I was wrong but I can tell you that if my other half employed tactics of that nature, they would definitely work.

Thanks Piercemeear and silverharp for the info on the bakfiets. Might check it out later. If you anyone in the forum wants to sell their used ones could let me know as well. Cheers.
