    From RTÉ:
Two held after Dublin cash-in-transit raid
    Tuesday, 20 July 2010 16:13

Two men have been arrested following the robbery of a cash-in-transit van in Dublin this afternoon.

Gardaí said that no money was taken in the raid at Annesley Bridge in Fairview.

No-one was injured in the robbery, which happened just after midday.

haha mmmm, no...no it is not excessive - considering how much money they are carrying.

Considering how much money these Brinks vans carry and the fact that the Irish army doesn't have much tasks set for them once based at home, I think it's an adequate level of protection considering the amount of raids and tiger kidnappings happening.

I'd like to see the Garda car used for other tasks considering how understaffed they are and the little resources they have at their disposal, but who'd do the arresting then if something happened. Maybe have 1 Gard assigned to the army jeeps perhaps, the thought of facing army jeeps would put off pretty much every criminal out there to be honest anyway.
