Nope. But very very very close. It was in fact mistaken as being an Ingenia for some time, before being classed as a different, but related Oviraptorid.

    ok time for another clue.

It is a type of Oviraptorid

I'm not getting the clues! It must be some type named after a someone in star trek?

Is it one of the Caudipteridae? I'm guessing that because of the fan of feathers on its tail?

Is it Khaan by any chance :P

I looked at Khaan, but dismissed it because I thought the skull was too elongated(at least according to the artists impression on wikipedia!)

Looks a little like a Paraceratherium or rather something that a Paraceratherium may have evolved from.

So maybe I should be thinking back through the Hyracodontidae family?

No this is a more recent beast. But you're in the right direction. Its related to modern horses, tapirs and rhinos.

So I should be thinking Perissodactyla in order to figure it out.

    Chalicothere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

No that's wrong as your pic does not have it walking on it's knuckles so my last guess is defo wrong.

    Ancylotherium it is then. :)

Is it a Cymbospondylus? It kinda looks like one, particularly with the lack of dorsal fin?
