Quick edit cos I googled it. LOL my memory is shot. Apatosaurus

That's from the giant Titanosaur found a few years back, Puertasaurus.

What he is standing beside in the pic is a vertebrae. Must have been one heck of a mountain of meat when it was walking about.

Thank you for picking up the task Galvasean, I have not got one ready because I have been run ragged today.

The arms look tyrannosurus like, but the beastie is a small one. Ignoring the arms for a moment, is it perhaps an Allosaur? They had smallish arms themselves.

But perhaps they were bigger than that too. Just a quick guess.

    Austroraptor cabazai. ?????

(Small Tyrannosaur like creature found in Argentina)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,746 ✭✭✭✭Galvasean

It's a tyrannosaur alright. It lived in eastern (clue) North America inthe Late Cretaceous.
That picture might be a bit decieving as a full grown specimen has never been found.

The ridge over the eye kinda makes it look like an allosaur?

It's believed to be a member of the allosauroidea alright. Imagine the carcharodontosaurs were the SUVs of the allosauroidae, then this guy is the sleek sports car.

In fact, it was initially mistaken for something even sleeker. Clue:
    Look at the claw!!!!!

Is it a megaraptor? I think they were mistaken for dromaeosaurs (sp?) originally but the giant claw was actually on a different 'finger' so they were reclassified as being more like the allosaurs

Damn came back to the thread too late :D

Yep Fishie that is a megaraptor in Galv's pic.
