    emmmmm.... :o:o

I read your clue, and then I remembered hearing that Speilberg made his Velociraptors much bigger, for the films sake....and during production, an actual new species of raptor was discovered which matched the larger one

....and then without thinking I guessed that species

....shortly afterwards I looked at the picture and..... :o:o

It looks like an allosaurus kinda, to me..... but different....

    ...so I'm guessing Yangchuanosaurus?

.... or actually with the spines clue... is it Acrocanthosaurus?

    canthosaurus?

    VERY close.

As for your guess of Yangchuanosaurus, Yangchuanosaurus was once believed to be a species of this animal.

    Cotylorhynchus_BW.jpg

By the way....how was it kinda in the jurassic park movie?

The name Metriacanthosaurus is clearly visible on one of the embryo containers when Denis Nedry is robbing them.

Not sure yet what your creature is. Did it live in the Permian? Is it a mammal-like reptile?

But what is his real name?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

It's not a troodontid. It's a coelurosaur that lived in the late Jurassic - early Cretaceous in South Africa.
And yes, it does have a semi-opposable thumb.
