    Hi,

Was in a pub last night and the news was on and I was sort of half looking at it, when I realized the car being pictured looked a bit like a Garda car. I then realized it was a garda car, it then moved to a scene with guards and what looked like the armed response team. I couldn't catch what they were saying as to what happened. Then later on, there was another news report, and they zoomed out so it was a view of Europe, and then they zoomed into Ireland, and zoomed into Galway, and were talking about something that happened, but I never found out what.

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks

That would most likely be it. Thanks very much.

The person was murdered in 2008 though.. would they have the armed response unit for the sentencing?

I assume it was footage of the guards at the scene of the crime.

Well I doubt they have a whole lot for doing in their specialist roll, so I assumed they work standard garda jobs when their not needed for their specialist roll. Beats sitting at the barracks cleaning their guns. You see the car around a lot, it's pretty cool looking and could fairly shift the few times I saw it.

Oh apologies. I read the OP wrong and thought that they had witnessed it.

The accused recently changed his plea to guilty prior to the trial and all that is left is for him to be sentenced and for the victim's family to travel to deliver an impact statement.

Maybe he thought it better to plead guilty and stay in an Irish prison then risk ending up in a Czech prison. Our prisons our palaces compared to czech ones.

They were out at the childrens cancer fundraiser in Oranmore on Sunday, letting people see the car and answering their questions. Looked like very good PR.
