    Looks like a 10 Ohm resistor to me. What makes you think it's a diode?

    PM your snailmail address and I'll send you a couple.

    or a 1.1 micro henry inductor?
    It looks more like an inductor. 99.9% sure an Inductor. But some are Millihenry and some Microhenry. 1.1 milli henry seems high..

    brown, brown, black would 11 somethings black = no zeros after digits
    brown, brown, gold is 1.1 something as gold = x0.1

    Silver = 10%
    Brown = 1

    dont know what any of that means:(

    Now that you mention it Watty, you may well be right.

    You could read that as a 1u1H inductor with a 10% tolerance.

    That's a very small value - I might have one - I'll have to take a look in my magic inductor box ;-)

    vw4life, your details received by PM. Bear with me while I have a look for a matching part. If I don't have an exact match, I should at least find something suitable as a replacement. Let's get the little fella's car working again...

    watty is a pure genius. master of the known universe. he is never wrong

    i would never have thought it was an inductor myself.

    Inductors rather than diodes or resistors are common in series with an aerial to compensate (match) due to shorter physical length than ideal.

    An aerial might have a series capacitor for isolation or if it's longer than needed. Capacitors do come in that style package too. But the "Body" colour and shape of moulding at the end is identical to some inductors.

    A diode or resistor is most unlikely to have in series with an aerial.

    Replacement now sourced and on the way to the OP.
